A practical example

Follow acabinet order through production.

A workshop plans 20 cabinets. Review the bill of materials, check shortages and prepare purchasing or manufacturing orders. Record actual material consumption and completed output, then reconcile raw materials and finished stock.

Illustrative workflow, not a customer result. Available steps depend on configuration and subscription.

Your working day

Define materials.Resolve shortages. Record output.

  1. Define the materials

Define the finished product and output quantity, component quantities, wastage, operations and costs in a bill of materials. A production plan groups demand; the BOM defines how the product is made.

  2. Resolve shortages

Compare material demand with available and incoming supply, separate shortages to buy from shortages to make, and review proposed purchase or manufacturing orders before creating them.

  3. Record production

Choose the BOM, quantity and both storehouses, confirm the order, start production and record accepted output and scrap before completion. Consumption and finished-stock receipt follow the configured order settings.

Getting started

Start with the essentials.Build from there.

Prepare products, units, material stock, warehouses and costing. Existing orders retain their recorded material-definition version. MRP relies on current stock, demand and prior supply proposals. It does not procure or manufacture automatically. Set stock rules, costing and account mappings. Storehouses are editable only while the order is Draft.

What to review as an owner

Track manufacturing orders, material requirements, output and recorded costs.
